Answer

What is the role of a class rep?

The class rep is a position with wide scope. Where suitable, they can deal with in-class issues like lecturers not turning up, lack of notes, or general enquiries. Their most visible role is to help the class bond by organising class parties, events and other bonding exercises. If an issue arises that is too large to be handled internally by the rep, or is inappropriate, then the rep will approach the Students’ Union Officers. The class rep is a good first point of contact for a student with a problem or in difficulty, and is a good liason between the class and its lecturers.
